Herd of Cats Tigger

Designed exclusively for Cowgirl Yarn's 16th birthday celebration, Tigger is a custom-dyed, fingering-weight yarn from Herd of Cats with a name and colors inspired by a curious cat that was instrumental in the origin of Cowgirl Yarn.

Sixteen years ago on the weekend before Valentine's Day in 2005, Lori and her family's cat Tigger went missing. A day after he disappeared, a young child knocked on their door to ask if they had lost a cat. He had been spotted on the roof of the home of the owner of The Chocolate Cellar, and Tigger wouldn't come down. After a night spent on the roof and with the help of Christie and Ed, the owners of The Chocolate Cellar; a neighbor Mr. P; and a couple of bucket trucks, Tigger was finally rescued from his ordeal... and grounded!

That chance interaction with Christie led to a conversation in which she mentioned that the space next door to her shop would soon be vacant and that she could envision a yarn or craft store moving in. She had no idea that Lori had already been talking to an early business partner about opening a business just like that! And so, an early version of Cowgirl Yarn was born, thanks in large part to a wayward cat. While sweet Tigger is no longer with us, Lori wanted to honor his important contribution with this beautiful yarn from Herd of Cats.
