The mitered square hat is a flattering and comfortable hat to wear! Designed by our very own Dorothy Tuthill, this pattern is fun and engaging to the very last stitch.

This class will teach participants how to make mitered triangles, squares, and kites. Participants will also learn how to pick up stitches, the sl1 K2tog psso, K3tog, p3tog, how to knit in ends as you go, and more!

Prerequisites: Participants need to know how to do the long-tail cast on, how to knit and purl, and how to knit in the round using double point needles or circular needles. These are all skills taught in our Begin to Knit 101, 102, and 103 classes!

Homework Prior to Class on March 21st: Participants should come to class with 23 stitches cast on one 8" double point needle. Knit those 23 stitches flat for one row. Instruction will begin on the second row of your first mitered triangle!

Homework Prior to Class on March 28th: Participants should come to class with their their six triangles completed prior to class.

Homework Prior to Class on April 4th: Participants should come to class with all of their squares and kites completed. Instruction will start at the crown section to close the hat. Participants will be guided on how to start the brim of the hat to finish at home.

Cost: $90; class supplies are discounted 10%.
