Join Robbie for a single-session workshop on knitting thrummed mittens! These super fun, super warm mittens are a Wyoming winter must-have. Thrums are little bits of specially prepared roving that are knitted into the fabric to create a finished piece that has a plush interior. This adds a ton of warmth to the project, which makes thrums a great addition to mittens, slippers, or even hats! In this class, you will learn to prepare thrums, and knit them into mittens.
Homework: Come to class with the ribbed cuff of your mitten complete. The Easy Mitten with Thrums pattern is available to download for free from Ravelry at https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/easy-mittens-with-thrums
Materials: 190-200 yards of worsted-weight wool yarn, US size 6 DPNs (or preferred needles for knitting small circumferences in the round), and stitch markers.
Meeting Time: Saturday, August 28, 2021: 1:00 pm - 2:30
- Thrums will be provided as part of the class fee.
This class is best for those who have previously knit at least one mitten, as the mitten construction will not be addressed at a beginner level.
- Please read our Class Terms and Conditions and provide a phone number and email when checking out, so we can contact you if needed should a last-minute issue arise.
