Maker's Monday: Channeled Colors Brioche Loop [Free Pattern]

Woman wearing a lime green shirt with a brioche cowl in lime green and dark blue beside a seaside.

One of the wonders of brioche knitting is the soft, squishy feel that looks beautiful inside and out. This pattern uses some of our favorite yarns for a cowl that truly stuns when finished.

The Pattern

The Channeled Colors Brioche Loop is brioche knitting at its best: colorful yarn, beautiful stitches, and a pop of wow. The combination of a variegated yarn with a solid yarn results in contrast that just grabs the eye, while creating the signature thick, bouncy feel of brioche.

Intended for the intermediate knitter, this pattern is a great for playing with brioche-style stitching.

The Yarn

The Channeled Colors Brioche Loop uses two different yarns: Editions 3 from Schoppel-Wolle and Simplicity from HiKoo. Editions 3 is a variegated yarn that brings fun and surprise with each stitch. Made with 100% superwash wool, it is soft yet durable. Simplicity is a solid-colored yarn made of 55% Merino superwash, 28% acrylic, and 17% nylon.

Combined, the two yarns create a dimensional, high-contrast color scheme that looks good no matter which side you show. We have a variety of colors of both yarns, letting you mix and match the colors you like best to create a cowl that is uniquely you.
