Maker's Monday: Nardis Shawl [Free Pattern]

Woman with back to the camera showing off the Nardis Shawl in a rose garden

A little bit of magic happens when a pattern works so perfectly for showing off all that a yarn has to offer. This Nardis Shawl pattern does just that, resulting in a lovely, light-weight shawl.

The Pattern

Simple to the eye, yet just complex enough in the pattern to keep you on your toes, the Nardis Shawl results in a lovely wrap that works across the seasons. We love the beautifully open stitch structure and the elegance of a single color. With a final size of 52" long and 24" tall, the shawl is big enough for comfort, without too much weight.

For the intermediate crocheter, this one-skein pattern offers fun and a slight challenge.

The Yarn

The Nardis Shawl uses Cascade's Heritage Silk Yarn. This is a superfine/fingering weight yarn made of 85% superwash Merino wool and 15% silk. The addition of silk gives this yarn a gorgeous sheen and beautiful drape, while Merino wool lends softness.

In this pattern, the beauty of Heritage Silk Yarn really comes through, while providing a silky soft touch that we just can't get over. With lovely stitch definition, the yarn is ideal for knitting lace shawls (like the Nardis Shawl), garments, and luxurious accessories.
