Looking for a lovely shoulder-season shawl that is cozy when its cool, but light enough for warm afternoons? The Piquilla Shawl is just the thing! With stitches that are just open enough without losing too much coziness, this crochet shawl will become your go-to!
The Pattern
This crochet shawl uses two contrasting colors to create alternative stripes of color that is eye catching, to say the least. Crocheted from the top down, the instructions are written to minimize ends to weave in, despite the color changes, making it a breeze to stitch and finish.

The Yarn

The Piquilla Shawl uses Universal's Wool Pop. This is a light DK-weight yarn made of 50% bamboo, 35% superwash wool, and 15% polyamide, giving it a dreamy drape and soft touch.
We love this yarn for the Piquilla Shawl because of way the yarn takes the dye- bamboo and wool handle dye differently, creating a heathered color that looks stunning. The depth of color combined with the smooth feel of the yarn lends itself to beautiful garments. The contrasting color-scheme of the Piquilla Shawl really pops with this yarn and we have so many color combo possibilities with yarn on our shelves- Winter Squash and Graphite, Dijon and Lake, or Darling Pink and Sage are just a few of the options. .
