Beginner Colorwork Snowflake Hat Class - September 19th, 2026

Product Description

Learn to knit stunning colorwork patterns without the fuss!

Take the next step in your knitting journey and cast-on a cozy colorwork hat!

Our in-person beginner colorwork class will walk you through everything you need to know to create a classic snowflake hat. This class is designed to leave you with the knowledge to tackle other colorwork patterns on your own, opening you up to a whole new world of knitting!

This class is designed for advanced beginners who are comfortable with knit and purl stitches as well as knitting in the round. Prior experience with double-pointed needles will be helpful, but if you haven't used them before, Lisa can show you how to use them for the decreases at the top of the hat. If you haven't learned to knit, purl, and knit in the round yet, our Begin to Knit 101 and 102 classes are great places to start!

Our expert instructor, Lisa Mackey will guide you through every step, teaching you everything you need to know about the foundations of colorwork as well as other helpful knitting skills:

  • Reading a colorwork chart
  • Managing tension with multiple colors
  • How to work with and anchor floats
  • Knitting colorwork with both hands
  • Placing and using a lifeline

Students should not expect to finish their entire hat in class, but instead to leave well on their way to doing so and with all the knowledge they need to tackle other colorwork patterns!

Don’t let this opportunity to lasso your creative spirit pass you by. Sign up for our beginner colorwork class today and embark on an incredible and valuable knowledge-building experience- one stitch at a time.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the Cowgirl Yarn knitting family!
