Ah, the magic of mistake rib—it's worked in the soothing rhythm of K2/P2 ribbing but an extra stitch 'oopses' the next row over by one, giving you a much more complex texture than the simple ribbing instructions imply. Knit in a classic worsted weight or luxurious chunky, this set is cozy and modern.

Notes:

  • This is a physical pattern.
  • The beanie knits up in a jiff, falling squarely into our “movie and the news” category of quick projects. And it’s handsome on men and women alike, so be prepared for requests from both!
  • Sizing tip: Ribbing shortens a little in length as it stretches in width. For a larger head, it's easier to add a few rounds than to change the stitch count and crown shaping.
