Our Cowgirl Yarn community is one of the things that makes our shop so special, and we love supporting both the local community and causes that we believe in. If you’d like to get involved in our community of fiber lovers, there are a variety of ways to contribute your time and energy.

Knitted Knockers

Cowgirl Yarn is proud to support Knitted Knockers and breast cancer survivors. If you're a knitter, crocheter, or even a weaver who wants to help, go to www.knittedknockers.org/downloads/ to find all of the patterns and instructions, a list of acceptable yarns, and answers to many of your questions. You can always contact the shop, too. Once finished, you can drop off your completed prosthetics in the shop, and we’ll make sure they get to a survivor in need.

Laramie Foster Closet

We regularly donate handmade items to the Laramie Foster Closet, especially hats, gloves, scarves, and other accessories. If you’d like to make a knitted or crocheted item for one of their kids who typically range in age from 3 to 16, it’s an amazing way for the Cowgirl Yarn community to support the Laramie community. Just drop off your finished items, and we’ll hand them off to the right people.

Cold Weather Donation Table

Once the weather turns cold, we fill a table outside of the shop with handmade hats, gloves, and scarves that are free to whomever might need them. If you enjoy making these items, but don't know what to do with them once you've finished, we'd love to add them to the donation table. Just bring them by the shop, or mail them to us.

Classes and Events

Be sure to regularly check our Classes and Events page to see what’s going on at Cowgirl Yarn and how you can get involved. Also, if you’re a skilled fiber artist and would like to teach a class at Cowgirl Yarn, contact us, and we’d be happy to talk through the details with you. We’re always looking for new fiber-related techniques and skills to feature in a class.

Thank you for being part of our incredible Cowgirl Yarn community!
