Baby bears are quick to knit and fun to felt. Each bear will be an individual and, since personality is developed during felting and finishing, it is suggested that you wait until then to name them.
Choose a yarn that will felt easily and firmly.
Solid Color Bear: 200 yds (183m) of worsted-weight yarn.
Pajama Bear: 130 yds (119m) for pajamas and 70 yds (64m) of bear color.
Hat: 60 yds (55m).
- This is a physical pattern.
Bears made in DK- or worsted-weight yarn will measure from 7 to 12 inches (18 to 30 cm) tall. Since bears are happy at any size, other weights of yarn may be substituted.
- Bleached white yarns do not felt and many off-white wools do not felt well, if at all. Please test a sample of your yarn choice make sure you are pleased with the result.
