Product Description
Solveig Hisdal is an award winning artist and textile designer who has studied both in her native Norway as well as New York. She has found her greatest source of inspiration in museums that chronicle antique needlework of exquisite workmanship, which she has adapted into intricate knitted sweaters. There is a section showcasing extraordinary christening caps and folk costumes reminiscent of visiting a Scandinavian museum. Some of the women's sweaters feature couture shaping as well as quite a few with European designs and a sportier fit. Finishing instructions are quite detailed, although this is not a book for beginners.
