Kick off the new year with a new knit-along!
Are you hankering for a project to help pass the cold winter months? Join the Cowgirl Yarn knitting community as we embark on an exciting KAL (knit-along) creating the extraordinary graphic Nordic Mix Sweater by Laura Dalgaard. This is a boxy sweater with colorwork patterns inspired by traditional knitting from the Nordic countries.
Join us every other Thursday from late January to early April as we work through this fun mosaic of colorwork patterns. If you've never done a knit-along before, no worries! Our wonderful facilitators, Robbie and Hollie, will be setting progress goals for each KAL session. While this is not a formal class and skills will not be taught, being part of a KAL means you always have people to bounce ideas off of, troubleshoot with, and ask pattern questions to! If you are out of town and want to join us, sign up and we will create a zoom link!
This pattern uses two-stranded colorwork, knitting in the round, binding off, steeking, and colorwork charts. Participants are expected to be comfortable with these techniques or be comfortable learning them between KAL meetups- we will have a KAL meetup for steeking the armholes of our sweaters, so no worries if that is a new technique for you!
What You'll Learn:
- This is a knit-a-long, so no skills will be formally taught, but you'll benefit from being around other knitters who are working on the same project as you!

- Tapestry/darning needle
- Stitch markers
- Size H crochet hook
Stop by the shop, or give us a call if you need help gathering your supplies. We're always happy to lend a hand!
Prerequisites:
Participants are expected to be comfortable with the required skills for the pattern or be comfortable learning those techniques on their own time. Please look through the pattern to make sure it is at a comfortable level for you- we are also happy to chat with you to help make sure you're set for success on this KAL!
Homework to complete Before January 29th:
Select your yarn, knit and block your gauge swatch to the pattern measurements, and be ready to cast on at the first gathering!
Please plan ahead and order your yarn early enough to ensure there is enough of your desired colors in the same dye lots prior to January 29th! The earlier, the better- if you wait, we cannot guarantee that we will have enough skeins or that they will be of the same dye lot.
If you have any questions or concerns about this knit-a-long, please feel free to email us (howdy@cowgirlyarn.com), call (307-755-9276), or stop by the shop. We’re always happy to help!
