Simple Mohair Wrap and Afghan by Churchmouse Yarns

This pattern produces a big, fluffy blanket to curl up under or a graceful shawl you can throw over the back of a chair or around your shoulders with equal elegance. It's the perfect project for newer knitters or accomplished knitters looking for some Zen knitting between more complicated projects. It has the aaah factor big time!

Finished Sizes:
Wrap: Approx. 18 x 78"/46 x 198cm, excluding 6"/15cm of fringe at each end.
Afghan: Approx. 50 x 60"/127 x 152cm, excluding 6"/15cm of fringe at each end.
Yarn information given for wrap size, with afghan size in parentheses ( ).

Worsted-Weight Version:

• 4 (9) skeins Classic Elite Giselle (230 yds/210m each) or 920 yds/841m (1970 yds/1801m) of an equivalent worsted-weight mohair yarn.
• US 8 (5mm) needle, or size to obtain gauge.
• 17 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.

Bulky-Weight Version:

• 3 (6) skeins Mountain Colors hand-painted Mohair (225 yds/206m each) or 650 yds/594m (1350 yds/1234m) of an equivalent bulky-weight mohair yarn.
• US 15 (10mm) 24" circular needle, or size to obtain gauge.
• 12 sts = 4"/10cm in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
