Join experienced teacher and knitter-extraordinaire Robbie Feuerstein to learn this technique, which allows you to create bold multi-color cables in your work.
What You'll Learn:
- Fission Knitting: Add a new skill to your bag of knitting tricks! Robbie will walk you through the steps of fission knitting to create stunning multi-color cables.
- Knitting with Multiple Strands: Fission knitting is worked by knitting two colors as one, and dividing them for cabled sections. Learn how to pick yarns that will be successful for this type of work and keep things organized while you knit.
- How to Improve Your Cables: Students should have a background knowledge of standard cable knitting, but this class will help you work on your cables with the help of an expert and learn tricks to keep your work neat and even.

Location: Either in the Fernwood Studio or the store floor of Cowgirl Yarn
Parking: Participants can park for free in the First Interstate Bank parking lot down the street from Cowgirl Yarn during non-banking hours.

Please Bring to Class:

2 skeins (approx. 463yds each) of Queensland Kathmandu or similar fingering weight yarn in contrasting colors. A smooth, plied yarn, such as a sock yarn, is best for this pattern. This amount will leave you with enough yarn to make the matching hat- if you only would like to make the cowl, you will need less yarn.

Homework to Complete Before Class:
Prior to the first class, students should complete the Bottom Edge cast on, Purl 2 rows, and cut one strand as indicated on the pattern. Come to class ready to begin with Setup Row 1.
Prerequisites:
Students should know how to cable, do a crochet cast-on, knit, and purl.
