What You'll Learn:

  • Loom Setup: Learn how to set up a modern inkle loom, a simple and portable tool.
  • Warping Techniques: Master the art of preparing your warp threads.
  • Weaving Techniques: Discover basic weaving techniques, including plain weave, twill, and simple pattern weaves.
  • Project Creation: Create your own unique inkle band using high-quality 5/2 mercerized cotton provided by Dorothy.

Time: 1 pm - 4 pm
Investment: $75 Teacher fee and $5 materials fee (paid directly to the instructor)
Location: Fernwood Studio in the basement of Cowgirl Yarn
Parking: Participants can park for free in the First Interstate Bank parking lot down the street from Cowgirl Yarn during non-banking hours.

Please Bring to Class:

- An Inkle loom (you may borrow one from the shop if needed) 
- A pair of small, sharp scissors
- $5 cash
- Scotch tape
- Dorothy will provide the rest of the materials

    This class is intended for participants who have never woven before or who are interested in picking up the skill again after an extended period of time away from it. If you have experience in weaving, we'd suggest taking one of our intermediate weaving classes.

    Lunch is not provided. However, there are many wonderful dining options within walking distance. We also have a refrigerator, microwave, and stove if you prefer to bring your own lunch. 

    After the class, you'll be able to take a loom with you to continue working. If you need more time to complete your project after the class, the store will remain open later, as needed.
