My First Mitten Class - November 2024

$62.50

Sold Out

This class, we will begin by working the body of the mitten, placing stitches on hold for the thumb, and closing the top of the mitten with the kitchener stitch, or a simple drawing up of stitches, your choice.

We will then learn the method for picking up thumb stitches and knitting the thumb stitches without creating those large gapin holes that are such a common frustration with mittens.

Students should be able to complete one mitten by the close of the class, and will have learned the skills to finish the second mitten at home.

This is a fun, quick pattern.  You will be able to to knock out a few more pairs for holiday gifts!

Skill: Student need to be comfortable with knit and purl stitches, and know how to knit in the round with dpns.

Homework:  Students should come to class with 10 rounds of the cuff completed.

Investment: $62.50

Materials: You will need the Pattern from Darn Knit, (free pattern on Ravelry)   Malabrigo's Rasta or Plymouth Encore Mega US 10 and US 11 6" dpns (double pointed needles). You will also need stitch markers, darning needle and scrap yarn.

We are looking for an alternative yarn suggestion.

Meeting Times: Saturday November 2nd 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
