What is a Yarn Tasting?
Maureen Johnson
Looking for something fun to do in Laramie? You can join Cowgirl Yarn and Chalk and Cheese for an evening of exploring new yarn, needles and hooks and wine and cheese! This yarn tasting event is meant to help everyone get to know more fibers, yarn constructions and styles! Read on and register here to discover your new favorite yarns and needles.
We see a lot of yarn here at Cowgirl Yarn but seeing the yarn is not the same as working with it. Hosting a yarn tasting offers us the opportunity to try new things and understand them more fully before deciding whether or not to bring them in the shop.
This also gives us the opportunity to create a fun event around breaking out of our shells and trying new things! It can be a struggle to try new things but when we have good company, good food, and good wine, stepping out of the norm becomes easy.
Chalk and Cheese, located in downtown Laramie, is the perfect venue for these events because they encourage sampling and tasting of all kinds of terrific wines, cheeses, fine meats and crackers! Their extensive selection of tasty treats pair well with our wide variety of fibers and needles we have to offer.
We will be featuring the popular Lykke needles and hooks and all of the gorgeous yarn offerings available from Elsebeth Lavold, including Silky Wool. We will have samples, prize drawings, and trunk shows to help us get inspired!
We hope you’ll join us for a night of new things and help us make big, fun choices about what to stock Cowgirl Yarn’s shelves with! Register to secure your space today!
